Our mission
Expert nursing support —
exactly when you need it.
BrightGuide Care provides professional in-home nursing support for patients recovering from surgery, transitioning home after hospitalization, and navigating complex healthcare needs. We help patients and families feel informed, supported, and confident throughout every stage of recovery.
We bridge the gap that traditional healthcare often leaves behind. After discharge, patients are expected to manage at home — often without the clinical guidance or oversight they need to recover safely. BrightGuide Care closes that gap with personalized, nurse-led support tailored to each patient’s unique situation.
“With BrightGuide Care by your side, you’ll never navigate healing alone.”
Meet your nurse
Myrna Quednau
RN, BSN · Founder, BrightGuide Care
“People heal best when they feel supported and informed. That belief has guided every year of my nursing career — and it’s the foundation of everything I do at BrightGuide Care.”
I’m Myrna — a Registered Nurse with 17 years of surgical healthcare experience at Henry Ford Hospital and Corewell Health. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of caring for patients during some of the most vulnerable and overwhelming moments of their lives. I’ve watched patients leave the hospital clutching discharge paperwork, still afraid, still uncertain, heading home to navigate recovery largely on their own.
The idea for BrightGuide Care grew from both my professional experience and a deeply personal one. When my grandmother suffered a stroke, I stepped in to help coordinate her recovery and care at home — and experienced firsthand the confusion, anxiety, and complexity that families face during healthcare transitions. I knew how to navigate the system. Most families don’t. That experience made me want to be that resource for others.
I created BrightGuide Care to provide compassionate, personalized in-home nursing support for patients and families who need guidance and an extra set of clinical eyes at home. Whether I’m helping someone recover safely after surgery, checking in after a hospital stay, or simply being a calm and knowledgeable presence for a family navigating a new diagnosis — my goal is always the same: to make sure no one ever has to face their recovery alone.
I’d be honored to be your nurse. Reach out anytime — I’m here.

Expert nursing care —
without the wait
BrightGuide Care fills the gap that traditional healthcare leaves behind. After surgery or hospitalization, patients are sent home and expected to manage on their own. Insurance doesn’t cover a nurse to check in. Your surgeon’s office is hard to reach. Your family is doing their best — but they’re not clinicians.
That’s exactly where BrightGuide Care steps in. As a private pay, on-demand service, I work directly with you — no insurance company dictating your care, no prior authorization, no referral required. You reach out, and we’ll arrange a visit around your schedule.
BrightGuide Care is an investment in your safety, your peace of mind, and your recovery.

A note on wound care
Most patients go home and
handle it entirely on their own.
After cosmetic and plastic surgery, patients are routinely discharged with wound care instructions — and little else. Changing dressings, monitoring incisions, managing drainage tubes: all of it falls on patients and families who have no clinical training. This is one of the most stressful parts of recovery. BrightGuide Care is here to change that. I provide professional, hands-on wound care in your home — so you can focus on healing, not worrying.
Professional dressing changes
Proper technique and sterile wound care — done right, every visit.
Wound assessment by a trained eye
I know what healthy healing looks like — and what early signs of infection or complications require attention.
Drainage tube management
Monitoring output, maintaining patency, and knowing exactly when to contact your surgeon.
Calm, expert reassurance
Honest clinical answers to every “is this normal?” moment — so you never have to wonder alone.

What you might be wondering
Does insurance cover BrightGuide Care?
BrightGuide Care is a private pay service and does not bill insurance. This means you pay directly — with no prior authorizations, no coverage limits, and no insurance company telling you what care you can or can’t receive. Many clients find this to be one of the most freeing aspects of working with me.
How do I get started?
Simply reach out by phone, text, or email. We’ll have a conversation about your situation and needs, and from there we’ll discuss how BrightGuide Care can help and what scheduling looks like. No referral is needed — you can contact me directly as a patient, family member, or caregiver.
How quickly can I get a visit?
BrightGuide Care is on-demand. I work to schedule visits promptly after our initial conversation, based on your timeline and location. If you’re being discharged and want support soon after returning home, reach out before you leave the hospital or surgery center so we can plan ahead.
What kinds of surgery do you support?
I support recovery after a wide range of procedures, with particular expertise in cosmetic and plastic surgery recovery. I also support patients recovering from general surgery, orthopedic procedures, and other elective or planned operations. Not sure if BrightGuide Care is the right fit? Just reach out — I’m happy to talk it through with you.
Can you help my family member, not just the patient?
Absolutely. Caregivers and family members are a critical part of what I support. I educate, guide, and reassure the people caring for patients at home — because recovery is a team effort, and families deserve support too.
What if I just came home with a new diagnosis and feel overwhelmed?
That’s exactly the kind of moment BrightGuide Care was built for. A new diagnosis is disorienting and frightening. I can help you understand your condition, review what your doctors told you, coordinate next steps, and simply be a calm, knowledgeable presence when you and your family need it most.
Warm & compassionate
I treat every patient with the same kindness and attention I would want for my own family. You are never just a case — you are a person.
Clinically experienced
With 17 years of surgical nursing experience, I bring the expertise to catch what others might miss and act quickly when it matters most.
Wherever you call home
I come to you. Your home, your comfort, your recovery — with registered nursing support delivered exactly where you need it.
When my father came home after his hospitalization, we had no idea what to watch for. Myrna reviewed every instruction with us, called his specialist, and gave us the confidence we hadn’t felt since his diagnosis.
